What is Profhilo®

and how does it work?

As we age, our bodies produce less hyaluronic acid (HA), causing the skin to lose its elasticity, moisture and start to look rough and dull. Fine lines and wrinkles also starts forming, showing our age and for some, look older than they really are.

Profhilo® helps by intensely hydrating the skin and reduce signs of ageing & saggy skin in the face, neck, chest and hands with little to no downtime.

The treatment involves the injection of a specially formulated and purified hyaluronic acid (HA) gel into the skin.

Profhilo® addresses skin laxity and signs of aging through the bio-stimulation of collagen, elastin, and adipocytes (fats) stem cells that are lost as our skin ages.

The Profhilo® Procedure

(1) Ultra-pure Profhilo® hyaluronic acid gel is injected by the Doctor into what’s known as your 5 Bio-Aesthetic Points (BAP) on both sides of the face and neck. These 5 key points includes areas next to the ears, the nasolabial fold, chin, under eyes & cheeks. Each treatment takes about 5 minutes.

(2) After treatment, the slow release of HA will result in the bio-remodelling of the skin and improve skin quality lasting for up to 6-9 months.

(3) Results are noticeable within 2 weeks post-treatment. You will typically be advised to have a second session after a month for more prominent and longer lasting results.

Questions you might have:

What is the difference between Profhilo® and Dermal Fillers?

They are different in various ways:

The type of Hyaluronic acid: In dermal filler injections, the type of HA is thicker and denser than Profhilo’s runny consistency. Fillers also include other substances in addition to HA, while Profhilo® contains a more concentrated and purified HA.

Hence, they work differently: Fillers is more of a sculpting treatment – by making certain features look more enhanced or slimmer. Profhilo® is more like a skin booster to improve texture and make the skin look hydrated and radiant.

Are there any risks or side-effects?

There is always a risk of side effects for all Medical Aesthetic procedures like getting bruises or swelling.

However, they are usually minor and don’t always occur. If they do, they will generally subside within 24 hours.

How long will results last?

Results are generally visible 2 weeks after treatment and will continue to get better due to the slow release of HA. Results can last anywhere from 6-9 months.

Who is eligible for Profhilo®?

Anyone can benefit from Profhilo®. It is, however, particularly effective for people in their late 20s to 50s, who notice signs of ageing skin and mild to moderate cases of wrinkles and fine lines.

For safety reasons, we do not recommend Profhilo® for:

– Patients who are Immunocompromised

– Allergic to Gram +ve bacterial proteins or lidocaine

– Have any infected skin area, such as acne or sores

– Pregnant or breastfeeding women
